From the Skidmore Standard (Skidmore, Missouri), Friday, July 11, 1902, page 1, column 3:
"Campbell - Dottie May Skidmore, daughter of Jefferson and Belle Skidmore, was born in Skidmore, Mo., May 1, 1881, and died at her home in St. Joseph, Mo., July 8, 1902.

In early life she removed with her parents to Nebraska, returning after thirteen years to Skidmore, where she lived until about three years ago when the family removed to St. Joseph, when on May 15, 1901 she was married to Mr. Pearl Campbell.

Among her last words were, 'I am so happy. I am going home. I want you all to follow me. Father, mother, husband, sister - only a little family - let us all stay together.'

She leaves her parents, husband, sister and many friends to mourn her loss. The funeral services were held in Skidmore at the home of Wm. Bodle, conducted by H. J. Donaldson, pastor of the M. E. Church, after which the remains were interred in the Masonic cemetery at Skidmore to await the resurrection at the last day. - H. J. D."
