Mabel was the daughter of Fred A. and Dora(Reynolds) Schell. Mabel married Clement McDowell on December 27, 1933 in Galena, Il. Mabel owned and operated the McDowell Upholstery shop in Cascade form 1965 until retiring in 1994. She was a member of the Cascade Sportmans Club, a member of the Dubuqueland Campers Club and a member of the Shady Rest Auxiliary. She is survived, by one daughter, Pamala McDowell of Rock Island, Il, 3 grand-daughers, Lori(Smith) and Paul Cook of Ohio, Debbie(Smith) and Charles Meitin of Georgia and Kelley(Smith) and Martin Fox of Wisconsin, 4 great grandchildren, Jennifer Smith, Gavin Macewan, Matthew Fox and Sarah Fox; one brother in law, Roy Brown of Wi, one sister in law, Ruth Schell of Cascade, IA and several neices and nephews and a host of friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clement McDowell on 11 Apr 1962; one daughter, Yvonne Smith on 7 Jan 1993, 1 sister, 6 brothers and 5 sister in laws.
