Since locating his business in the Baraboo community, failing eye sight and declining health have kept him from the active work to which he was accustomed. During this time, his sons carried on the sawing and logging operations.
Frederick Augustus Schell was born at Sparta August 23, 1873 and died at the age of 65 years. He was one of six children, survivors including one brother, William, of New Lisbon, and three sisters, Elizabeth Miller of Richland Center; Frances DeWitt, of La Crosse; and Etta DeVolt of Deer Park, Alabama.
The deceased was married to Dora Reynolds of New Lisbon, August 4, 1906, who survives him. To this union were born eight children, Harry, Alfred, John, and Louis of Baraboo; Roy and Mrs. (Alma) Roy Brown of Excelsior; and Mrs. Mabel McDowell of Richland Center. One son, Lloyd, preceded him in death in March 1, 1927.
Funeral services were held Monday morning, the Rev. E. O. Coontz officiating.
