Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Reverend Bill Rennels officiating. Burial with full military rites will be in Forrest Ridge Cemetery in rural Wayne County.
Mr. Walker was born on November 12, 1913, in Wayne County, the son of Hershel and Golda (McCleary) Walker.
He married Ruth Alvord on January 29,1938. She preceded him in death on January 23, 1999.
He operated grocery stores and Huckster routes. He was also a game warden and was retired from Dresser-Atlas in Olney. He was affiliated with Antioch Christian Church. He
was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Walker is survived by four sons, Rodney Walker and his wife, Mary, of Southport, Fla., Jerry Walker and his wife, Frieda, of Olney, Mick Walker and his wife, Kathy, of Tempe,
Ariz., and Dick Walker and his wife, Darlene, of Princeton, Ind.; a brother, Kell Walker and his wife, Norma, of Olney; a sister-in-law, June Alvord, of Olney; and 16 grandchildren
and 32 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a son, John, a brother, Joe, a sister, Alice Eyer, a granddaughter, Tiffany Walker, and a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Walker.
Memorials may be made to Forrest Ridge Cemetery Fund.
