Harold D. Bristow, 73, 3591 Alexandria Pike, died Saturday at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was born August 19, 1919 in Kempton.
He moved to Anderson in 1950 from Tipton.
He retired in 1973 after working 33 years as a union carpenter.
He received a Purple Heart while serving in the U. S. Army in World War II.
He attended the North Anderson Church of God, was a member of the Carpenter's Union Local 1016, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 266 and the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Frances (Ogden) Bristow; one son, Stephen K. Bristow of Anderson; two sisters, Anita Thomas of Monticello and Norma Graham of Elwood; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service in Anderson. The Rev. James D. Lyon will officiate. Burial will be at the East Maplewood Cemetery. VFW Post 266 will conduct military graveside rites.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
