She was born Dec. 9, 1928, in Lafayette, Indiana, the daughter of Seward "Cy" Bristow and Mamie Hawkins Bristow. She graduated from Jefferson High School and resided in the Monticello area most of her life.
On Dec. 31, 1949, in Lafayette, she married Lee Thomas. He died Aug. 19, 1994.
She had been a waitress for 52 years, the last 10 at the Monticello Pizza Hut.
Mrs. Thomas was a member of Lake Shafer Christian Center in Monticello. She enjoyed playing cards, dominoes and Bible studies at the nursing home, where she had attended activities and volunteered before she became a resident.
Survivors include two sons, Jeff L. Thomas of Lafayette and Shane S. Thomas (wife: Mary) of Chalmers, and a daughter, Debra D. Weston (husband: Harvey) of Goshen.
