LEXINGTON - Funeral service for Jimmie C. Abbott, 81, of Lexington, will be held at 3 p. m. Saturday, February 19, 2011, at Red Bank Baptist Church, where she was a member. Officiating will be the Rev. Butch Powell and the Rev. Jimmy Walker. Burial will follow in Southland Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 Friday evening at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Mrs. Abbott will be placed in the church at 2 p. m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Red Bank Baptist Church Building Fund, 120 Community Drive, Lexington, SC 29072.

Mrs. Abbott, widow of Paul P. Abbott, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2011.

Surviving are her daughters, Lanora Frost of West Columbia, and Judy Sturkie and her husband, Donald, of Wagner; son, Paul "Rocky" Abbott and his wife, Trudy, of Pine Ridge; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; brother, George P. Campbell of Monticello, KY.

She was preceded in death by her son, Tony Abbott, two sisters, Frances Culberth and Annie Margaret Wilson; a brother, Samuel R. Campbell.
