COLUMBIA - Samuel Andrew Campbell, 57, owner and operator of Campbell's Barber Shop in West Columbia, died at the Baptist Hospital at 4:50 yesterday afternoon, after an illness of one day.

He was born in Marion County, August 28, 1902, son of the late Sam M. and Mary Berry Campbell. He had made his home in Columbia for the past 15 years. He was a member of the Maple Street Southern Methodist Church and the Men's Bible Class of the church.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Marguerite Love Campbell; three daughters, Mrs. C. W. Culbreth and Mrs. Paul P. Abbot, both of West Columbia and Mrs. H. G. Wilson of Eastover; two sons, Samuel R. Campbell, a sergeant in the US Marine Corps, station at Cherry Point, N.C. and George J. Campbell of Columbia; three sisters, Mrs. N. T. Rogers of Mullins, Mrs. Cora Mae Odom of Florence and Mrs. Ray W. Biglow of Norfolk, Va.; three brothers, Heyward Campbell of Elizbethton, N.C., Luther Campbell of Whiteville, N.C. and Charlie Campbell of Latta; and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon from Ebenezer Southern Methodist Church near Marion, conducted by the Rev. Lynn Corbett. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

The body will be at Dunbar Funeral Home until 11 o'clock Monday morning, when it will be taken to the church near Marion, where it will be for an hour before the funeral service. The family will be at the residence on Head Street until Monday morning.
