Solider in World War II. Son of Carl Hamlow (1898-1985), and Opal Hamlow (1902-1985). From the Turlock Journal April 1945: The bodies of two soldiers both of whom were killed in action on Okinawa within 11 days of each other have been returned to Turlock for burial.
Wilkins C. HAMLOW, a native of Turlock, was killed April 11, 1945 with the 32nd Infamtry. He had attended Gratton grammar school and junior high and high school in Vallejo. He was living in Denair when he went into the service and was 20 years old at the time of his death.
He is survived by his parents, Carl a. and Opal HAMLOW of Denair, a sister, Lorene HAMLOW, Denair; and a brother Aubrey, who is in college at San Luis Obispo.
