Mrs. Nina Johnson Beard, 86, died in Collingsworth General Hospital at 7;32 Friday, August 24. She had become critically ill only a few days earlier.
She had lived in Collingsworth County since 1910, coming with her parents, George and Mattie Banks McAdams, who settled in the Lillie community.
The former Nina Mae McAdams, she was born May 18, 1893 at Easley, SC.
She was married to Floyd Johnson January 2, 1915 in Hollis, OK. He preceded her in death July 26, 1946. She married Joe Beard May 9, 1949 in Clovis, NM. He died on November 22, 1976.
Mrs. Beard was a member of Faith Baptist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are two daughter, Mrs. Gertrude Mayhugh and Mrs. Loreen Hill, both of Wellington; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
