The Wellington Leader August 1, 1946

Floyd Johnson, Wellington carpenter who had lived in this county for 40 years, died at his home Friday, July 26. His death followed a long period of Illness which had confined him to his home for the last two years.

Mr. Johnson was a native Texas, having been born in Williamson county August 18, 1889 and at the time of his death he was 56 years, 11 months and 8 days of age. With his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Johnson, he moved to Foard County in September 1898. The family lived there for two years, then moved to Duke, OK, where they remained for five and on-half years before coming to this county in 1906.

He was married to Miss Nina McAdams on January 2, 1915.

From 1922 until 1935, Mr. Johnson was employed at gins in Wellington. He then took up carpentering work which he followed until his health failed.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his widow, Mrs. Nina Johnson; two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Mayhugh and Mrs. Lorene Motsenbocker; and three granddaughters, Barbara Ann Mayhugh, Charleen and Sharon Motsenbocker; and a sister, Mrs. Eva Clemons. A brother, Rodney Johnson, preceded him in death three months ago.
