He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Fleming Barker,Jr.; brother-in-law, George Hubbard.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Gulledge Barker of the residence; daughter & son-in-law, April & Josh Stanley of Crandall; son, Steven Steely of Crandall; mother, Hazel Barker of Martinsville, VA; two sisters, Donna Hubbard and Vickie Cannaday, both of Martinsville; brother, Ronnie Barker of Martinsville; mother-in-law, Barbara Gulledge of Eton; 3 grandchildren, Grace Steely, Kole Betterton and Braxton Stanley, granchild on the wat, Adlyne Stanley; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral services for Mr. Barker will be held Monday, August 27, 2012 at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev.Joe Wayne Beal officiating. Burial will be in the United Memorial Gardens.
