Basham Rites Slated Today
Last rites for Sanford I. Basham, 72, will be conducted from Calfee Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. today by the Rev. W. W. Jones. Burial will be in Calfee Cemetery, Mount Tabor.
Pallbearers will be William Moore, John Moore, Alonzo Moore, Clarence Moore, Millard Basham and Gerald Rector.
Basham died at 5:10 p.m., Sunday at the home of his son, Clarence, on the 19-21 By-Pass.
He was born Aug. 3, 1881 at Ellison in Summers County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elliott Basham, both deceased.
He had lived in Raleigh County about 54 years. He formerly worked at the Beckley Ice and Feed Co. and was a member of the Eccles Church of God.
Suvivors include a daughter, Mrs. Zella Rector of Hempill; five sons, W. R. of Mabscott, Clarence and James of Beckley, Jack of Crab Orchard and Millard of Canton, Ohio; two half sisters, Mrs. Beulah Crawford of Bellepoint and Mrs. Nora Austin of Streator, 28 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
