"George Millard Basham, 54, 1025 Second St., N. W., Canton, Ohio, formerly of Beckley died Wednesday at 12:25 a.m. in a Canton hospital following a one-year illness. Born March 28, 1913 in Beckley {sic}, he was a son of the late Sanford and Minnie Moore Basham. He had lived in Canton for the past 20 years, where be was employed as a grinder for the {Timken} Roller Bearing Company. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Betty Farr Basham, Canton, Ohio; one son, Millard, St. Albans; one daughter... three step sons... one step daughter... four brothers, Clarence, William, James and Jack, all of Beckley; one sister, Mrs. Walter (Zella) Rector, Beckley; three grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in the Mount Tabor Cemetery. The body will remain at the funeral home where friends may call after 5 p.m. Friday."
