Beatrice Jenkins 70 Year County Resident, Dies

Mrs Beatrice Jenkins, 93, died Monday, July 28, at 6:35 am in Collingsworth General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted at 2 pm Tuesday, July 29, in First Baptist Church, with the Rev Kenneth Davis officiating, and Rev Keith Bruce, pastor, assisting. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Schooler Gordon Funeral Directors. Pallbearers were J C Hartman, Marshall Peters, John Nash, Dennis Lacy, Alvin Horton and Raymond Horton.

Mrs Jenkins was born Feb 3, 1893 in Garland, the daughter of Mike Capp and Lee Elkins Capp. She married Samuel E Jenkins, Sept 9,1909, in Memphis. They came to Collingsworth County, to the Lillie community, in 1914 from Hall County. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors are two sons, H L Jenkins and Roland Jenkins, both of Wellington; three grandchildren: Zeldon Jenkins of Groom, Zanna Jenkins of Memphis and Linda Warrick of Dalhart. There are four great-grandsons.

She was preseded in death by her husband, Samuel E Jenkins in 1930; two sons, Truitt Jenkins in 1932 and S E Jenkins, Jr., in 1966; two sisters, Buelah Tucker and Rebecca Knowles.
