H.L. Jenkins, age 77, longtime resident of Collingsworth County, died Saturday, December 13, 1997 in Wellington.
Born October 12, 1920 in Collingsworth County to Samuel E. and Beatrice Capp Jenkins, he attended school at Olton. He married Lorene Treadwell June 21, 1941 in Hollis, OK.
Jenkins served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a lifetime member of the VFW. A retired farmer, he was a member of the First Baptist church.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene, of the home; a daughter Linda Warrick of Amarillo; two grandsons, Sam Warrick and Mark Warrick, both of Amarillo and a great-granddaughter, Peyton Warrick, also of Amarillo.
