The Rev. Roland Zeldon Jenkins, Sr., 68 died Friday, January 25, 1991 in Amarillo. Mr. Jenkins was born Aug. 22, 1921.

His parents were Samuel E. Jenkins and Mollie Beatrice Capp Jenkins. He married June Long in 1948, in Paducah.

Mr. Jenkins received a B.A. degree from Wayland Baptist College, a Master's degree from West Texas State University. He taught in the Lelia Lake School, Hart, Samnorwood, Texas, also Ron, Oklahoma, Wellington and Hollis, OK.

He served as pastor of churches at Lelia Lake, Plaska, Rolla, Lillie, Lone Mound, Midway, Friendship Baptist Church at Friendship, and Metcalf in Oklahoma. He had farmed in Wellington for 18 years. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.

Survivors are his wife, Lora June Jenkins, a son, Roland Zeldon Jenkins, Jr., of Groom, a daughter, Zanna Jenkins of Memphis; one brother, H.L. Jenkins of Wellington, and two grandsons, Richard and Ronald Jenkins of Groom.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Truitt Jenkins and S.E. Jenkins, Jr.
