Shreveport, Louisiana - A gathering of friends and family celebrating the life of Sandra "Sandy" T. Funderburk will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 23, 2012 in the Adult Education Building Parlor of the Broadmoor Presbyterian Church, 1915 Grover Place, Shreveport, Louisiana, with Pastor Jim Freeman assisting with prayer.
Sandy was born on November 29, 1937 in Rochelle, Louisiana, and went to be with our Lord on Friday, August 17, 2012, after a sudden illness. She was 74 years old.
Sandy was a medical technologist and worked hard all her life, always having more than one job at a time. She retired from the State of Louisiana in 1999, and after a brief retirement, she went back to work at Willis Knighton Medical Center, retiring again after about 6 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James Tooke.
She is survived by two daughters, Paula Scholzen and her husband, Jim, and Sharon Todd and her 2 sons, Nicholas Todd stationed at Camp Pendleton, California, and Eric Todd, a senior at North DeSoto High School, and a brother, Richard E. Tooke.
The family extends their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the DeSoto Volunteer Fire Department for their assistance in the past, and to Willis Knighton Pierremont for the kind and compassionate care shown Sandy.
