SMITHSBURG - Katherine K. "Kitty" Holtzman, 98, formerly of West Water Street, Smithsburg, and Reeders Memorial Home of Boonsboro, died Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Washington County Hospital.
Born March 15, 1911, near Smithsburg, she was the daughter of the late Ardie W. and Shirdie E. Honodel Winters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Leroy Holtzman, Aug. 4, 1975. They were married in 1940.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Christ Reformed United Church of Christ, choir and friendship class of Cavetown.
She is survived by one son, C. Edward Holtzman of Hagerstown; brothers, Samuel J. Winters Sr. of Smithsburg and Richard H. Winters of Hagerstown; three granddaughters; nine great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Carroll W. Holtzman; sisters, Margaret A. Kelly, Juanita Bachtell, Bernadette Warrenfeltz Palmer and H. Annette Winters, and one brother, Ardie W. Winters Jr.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at J.L. Davis Funeral Home inn Smithsburg. Pastor Carol D. Hallman will officiate. Burial will be in Smithsburg Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
