Mary Henkle, born March 24, 1822, Fayette Co. Ohio, US.; died June 5, 1908 at Corvalis, Benton Co. Oregon; married March 18, 1839, Fayette Co. Ohio, US. to David King, born Oct. 30, 1818 in Delware; died Aug. 4, 1890 at Corvalis, Benton Co. US.
Parents of nine children.
David and Mary Henkle King moved in 1839 from Fayette Co. Ohio, to Lee Co. Iowa, in 1851 to Appanoose Co. Iowa, in 1853 they joined the Hankle train to Oregon, where they settled on a farm in Benton Co. Oregon.
David King helped build and operate the Henkle Sawmill on the claim of his brother -in-law Ichabod Hankle, this mill was build in 1854.
They are buried in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
