Ima Mae Baker, 96, formally of Throckmorton, Texas and most recently of Schulenburg, Texas, passed away Tuesday morning, August 14, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel in Throckmorton with Rev. Jay Gage officiating. Burial will follow at the Throckmorton Cemetery.

Ima Mae Nicklas was born March 24, 1916 in Palo Pinto County, Texas to Charlie Thomas and Martha Elizabeth (Hamilton) Nicklas. Ima married Dennis Plenty Baker on February 4, 1939 in Weatherford, Texas. Mrs. Baker was a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis who passed in September of 1980; her parents, Charlie and Martha Nicklas; 3 sisters, Annie, Francis, Edith; 4 brothers, John, C.T., Doc, and Jim.

She is survived by her son, James Charles Baker and his wife Kay; daughter, Patricia Annette Baker; grandson, Jimmy Baker, Jr., and wife Holly; granddaughter, Stacie Whitley and husband Mark; 3 great-granddaughters, Edie Baker, Lea Whitley, and Anna Whitley.
