Father of Martina "Joan", Larry Phillip, and Carolyn Kay.

Glen B. Weirich, age 66, died at 4 a.m. today at a hospital in Grove, Oklahoma, where he entered yesterday. He had been in failing health for several years.

He was born July 13, 1916 near Haswell, Colorado, the son of J.B. and Lena Lemon Weirich. He moved to the Galesburg, Kansas area in 1922 with his parents.

He and Laura Mae Gear were married July 30, 1938 in Yates Center, Kansas.

The couple lived for many years in the Galesburg and Parsons areas, where they farmed until moving to Grove after retiring in 1977. Weirich had also done carpentry work and had been employed at the flour mill in Cherryvale, Kansas.

He was a member of the Galesburg United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of the home; a son, Larry Weirich of Grove; two daughters, Mrs. Joan Long of Altamont, Kansas and Mrs. Carolyn Treadway of Riverdale, Georgia; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Philip Weirich of Garnett, Kansas and Duane Weirich of Omaha, Nebraska; and three sisters, Mrs. Mary Shaffer of Erie, Kansas; Mrs. Grace Bolinger of Plano, Texas, and Mrs. Eunice Hizey of Galesburg.

He was preceded in death by a brother in 1920 and a sister, Mrs. Maxine Bolinger in 1976.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Burris-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Parsons with he Rev. Kay Bishop, minister of the Galesburg United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Galesburg.

The family has suggested memorials to his church. These may be left at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Friends may also call there after 9 a.m. Sunday.
