Adaline Jane Carnes was one of seven children born in Bellefontaine to Florida Kennedy and Michael Ashby Carnes. Adaline lived in Bellefontaine until after her marriage to Starley Frederick Beasley, the son of Adam Beasley. They married in Bellefontaine, Logan County, Ohio on November 7, 1907. Starley worked as a salesman for the railway and he took his family from Ohio to Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. Starley preceded Adaline in death in 1949. Four children were born to them-Irvin, Esther, Ruth, and Bettie. Adaline died in 1978. Her burial place is in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. Adaline shares a memorial with her daughter, Esther Beasley Lee.
