Anthony Ryan
Anthony Ryan died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. M. J. Kerrigan, in Utica at 12:15 o'clock Wednesday afternoon after an illness of three months. Mr. Ryan was born in Ireland in 1847 and came to this country with his parents when a child, locating at Forge Hollow, where he had since resided except for a few months spent in Utica. He was married 45 years ago to Miss Mary Smith, whose death occurred in 1871 [1891]. He was a member of St. Bernard's Church of this village and upon going to Utica last March attended St. Agnes' Church. Besides his daughter with whom he made his home, he leaves two sons, Anthony of Nebraska, James of this village and a daughter, Margaret of Utica; three sisters, Mrs. John Agen[sic, Agan] of Stockwell, Mrs. Amy Davenport of Binghamton, and Mrs. John Duffy of Utica; and two brothers, Patrick Ryan of this village and Edward[Edmond] of Forge Hollow also survive. The funeral was held from the residence of his daughter at whose home he died, this morning at 9 o'clock and from St. Agnes' Church at 9:30, where a requiem high mass was celebrated. The remains were brought to this village for interment.
