D. Dale Clary, 90, a lifelong resident of Parsons, died Monday, July 26, 2004, at Labette County Medical Center. He was born Sept. 14, 1913, in Parsons, the son of William A. and Sylvia McCaslin Clary. He grew up in Parsons and attended schools there, graduating from Parsons High School.

During World War II, he worked at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant. He later worked for A.O. Brown Oil Co. and Beatrice Foods. He retired after working many years as a machinist for Superior Concrete. He also had a TV repair shop at his home. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Parsons, and a member of the former St. Mary Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking.

On Jan. 14, 1934, he married Alice E. Westhoff at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Erie. She died March 25, 2004. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Phillips, two grandchildren, Chris Leuty and Billy Leuty, and three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 30, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, led by Fr. Robert Wachter. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Parsons. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, after which the family will receive friends.
