Phoenix Woman Suffers Burns
Mrs. George R. Lyall, 86 old, long-time and widelv known Phoenician, was burned seriously when her clothing caught fire on a small bedroom gas heater in her home at 334 North 16th street about 9 a. m. yesterday, police reported.
Ambulance officers sped her, suffering from shock and second-degree burns on her hips, the back of her legs, her back and her left arm, to Good Samaritan Hospital, where she remained last night.
Mrs. Lyall stepped back against the heater from a chair in which her husband was seated, police said, and the flames leaped up her clothing, burning most of it from her body beofe the fire was extinguished by a daughter, Dallas.
She is the mother of Berta Lyall, principle of the Capital School, and has another daughter and three sons here and one son in Yuma.
