Bertha E. Lyall, 81, a schoolteacher for 43 years, died Saturday. She lived at 41 W. Encanto Boulevard.
Miss Lyall, who had been a resident of Arizona since 1887, was the first principal of Capitol School, a post she held for 36 years until her retirement in 1948.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. tomorrow in the chapel of A. L. Moore and Sons Mortuary, 333 W. Adams. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park.
