Early Life: Joseph was born November 12, 1910, in Colonia Juarez, Mexico, son of Edward Christian and Caroline Romney Eyring. He received his early education in Pima, Arizona.
Life’s Work | Service | Interests: A graduate of Brigham Young University, he received his master's degree from University of California, Berkeley. On September 5, 1933, he married Lavon Brunt. Following her death in January 1987, he married Margaret Smart Fife. His 30-year career as a realtor in California preceded his retirement, when he moved to Provo, Utah. While in Berkeley, he served as president of the Realty Board and of the Rotary Club. Active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in both California and Utah, he served as an ordinance worker in the Provo Utah Temple. Joseph Clayborne Eyring, of Las Vegas, Nevada, died Sunday, December 22, 1996, at Crestview Care Center in Provo, Utah. He was 86.
Survived By: His wife, Margaret, of Las Vegas, NV; two sons: Phillip M. Eyring, of Moraga, CA; Joseph S. Eyring, of Vallejo, CA; four daughters: Lynette Wasden, of Walnut Creek, CA; Caroline Howells, of Reno, NV; Margaret Harjunpaa, of Carmichael, CA; Janet Eyring, of Diamond Bar, CA; his brothers and sisters: Catherine Edwards, Caroline Miner, Ruth Williams, Maurine Boyd, Rose Calder, Ethel Taylor, Genevieve Layton and LeRoy Eyring; [illegible] grandchildren, 18 step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren.
Preceded In Death By: His wife, Lavon; his son, Carl; and his parents; and at least four siblings.
