Ernstina Jullina Baerg was born on July 14, 1927, in Carson Township, Cottonwood County, Minnesota to the late Jacob J. and Ernstina (Pankratz) Wiens. She received her education in rural District #16 in South Carson Township and later attended and graduated from Minnehaha Academy.
On December 26, 1953, she was united in marriage to Bernhard Baerg in Delft. Through the years, Ernstina worked for Fingerhut, Butterfield Foods, the Windom Hospital and TORO before retiring. She was a former member of the Women's Circle at the First Mennonite Church in Mt. Lake, sang in the church choir in Mt. Lake and was a member of the Senior Citizen Center in Bingham Lake along with belonging to a sewing circle.
Ernstina is survived by three children, DeWayne (Imelda) Baerg of Bingham Lake; Lois (Tim) Cain of Alpha; Joyce (Harold Jr.) King of Rochester; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Ernstina is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernhard; two sons, Bruce and Carl David Baerg; five brothers, Alex, Menno, Jacob, Marvin and Ben; two sisters, Linda Peters and Elma Hegberg; and one infant sister, Viola Baerg.
