RALEIGH, N.C. -- Lehman Iler, 85, died Oct. 6 at Rex Hospital. He was a native of Bulloch County (GA) and an Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 263rd Medical Battalion in New Guinea, the Philippine Islands and Japan. He retired from Reynolds Metal Co. in 1975 and was a member of Everette Miller Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church.

SURVIVORS: his wife of 51 years, Sara Roberts Iler of Raleigh; two sons, John Lehman Iler of Raleigh and Lewis Raymond Iler of Morrisville; two daughters, Mary Roberts Iler of Raleigh and Nancy Iler Evans of Tega Cay, S.C.; and two sisters, Minnie Bowen and Eleanor F. Baxter, both of Savannah.
