She was born in Bulloch County and lived in Savannah most of her life. She had worked in retail sales in women's apparel and was the widow of Waldo E. Bowen. She was a member of the Order of thw Eastern Star and had been a member of Calvary Baptist Temple.
Survivors: two sons, Samuel Thomas Sweat, Jr. of Wingate, N.C., and George Franklin, Sweat of Tallahassee; a daughter, Sandra Diane Glisson of Atlanta; a sister, Eleanor Fay Baxter of Savannah; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Graveside Service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
