Rowan Post of the American Legion as commander in the 1943-44 term, having earlier served the post as welfare and service officer and as vice commander. In World War II days he served as city chairman of various drives for materials, clothing and food.
He was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church in Altoona and the Holy Name Society.
He died ,at age 64, in the Altoona Veterans Administration Hospital after suffering a heart attack.
