After a lingering illness, Mrs. Ivy Ewing, 82, of Rossville, died Tuesday at 3:30 p. m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Burvil Snyder of Lafayette route 5.
Born in Clinton county on May 4, 1882, the daughter of John M. and Loretta (Swank) Dunk, she was married in 1901 to Thomas Ewing, who died in 1948.
Survivors besides the daughter, Mrs. Snyder, are one brother, Russell Dunk, Lafayette route 5, and a niece, Mrs. Betty Merrell of Delphi, who was reared by Mrs. Ewing. Four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, also survive. Mrs. Ewing was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
The funeral services will be Friday, May 8, 2 p. m., at the Rossville Methodist church with the Rev. Louis Balsley officiating. Burial will follow in the Rossville cemetery.
The Moore and Brown Funeral home of Rossville is in charge of arrangements.
