He was the son of John M. and Loretta (Swank) Dunk. He was born in Tippecanoe County and was a retired farmer. On February 18, 1914, he married Maude A. Bolyard.
Mr. Dunk was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Mulberry.
Surviving besides the widow are a son, John R. Dunk of LaPorte and a daughter, Mrs. Harold R. Kasten of Tucson, Arizona and five grandchildren: Janice Dunk, a senior in Ball State University; Jeffrey Dunk in the United States Army at Fort Riley, Kansas; Jeannine Dunk, a senior in LaPorte High School; Mrs. Jerry Stumbaugh of Seattle, Wash., and Linda Ariene Kasten of Tucson.
