Harriet Deitrich Cole, 90 years old, of West Palm Beach died on Sunday, January 23, 2005. She resided in West Palm Beach and Palm Beach for more than 70 years. She worked for many years as an Interior Designer with Anne Lanfranchi located within what is now known as the Gucci Arch on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach, where she was affectionately known as "Coley". Both her late husband, Joseph H. Cole, Sr. and her late son, Jay Cole, were Chief Executive Officers of B.D. Cole Insurance Agency in West Palm Beach. The company was founded by her husband's father, Bertram Dudley Cole in 1919 with encouragement from Henry Flagler. She is survived by her granddaughter and great grandson, of Charlotte, North Carolina; niece, of Tampa, Florida and nephew, of West Palm Beach, Florida. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at Bethesda-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, 141 S. County Road, Palm Beach, FL 33480. In lieu of flowers, the family would request contributions in Mrs. Cole's memory to the charity of your choice or to the Altar Guild at Bethesda-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church of which she was a long time member.
