Helen L. Michael, 87, of Idamay, died Monday (Feb. 4, 2008) at the Wishing Well Health Center in Fairmont.
She was born July 30, 1920, in Mannington, a daughter of the late Clarence K. and Nina L. Burr Hennen.
Helen was a nurse's aide at Fairmont General Hospital for many years. She was a former member of the Dulcimer Club, and an auxiliary member of the UMWA, and was a graduate of Mannington High School. She was also a member of the Fleming Memorial Presbyterian Church in Fairmont.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sally and Lawrence Price, Shinnston, Joy and Richard Keener, Mannington, and Helen R. Harper, Seaside, Calif.; a son and daughter-in-law, Dale D. and Rosemary Michael II, Monongah; her twin brother, Harold L. Hennen and wife Annabelle, Cartersville, Ga.; two sisters, Genny Blount, Fairmont, and Mary Jo McKown, Macksburg, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Leonard Gongola, Newark, Ohio; 13 grandchldren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Dale D. Michael, who died Nov. 15, 2001; and a sister, Polly Gongola.
Friends may call at the Hutson Funeral Home in Farmington on Wednesday from 2-9 p.m. where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with Pastor John Riley officiating. Interment will be in the Bee Gum Cemetery near Mannington.
