Dale Denver Michael, 80, of Main St., Idamay, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001 at the Fairmont General Hospital.

He was a coal miner, having retired from Consolidation Coal Co.'s Loveridge Mine with more than 42 years in the mining industry. He is a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army in the European Theater, where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of the American Legion Post 31 in Shinnston, and the United Mine Workers of America. He was a member of the Fleming Memorial Presbyterian Church in Fairmont.

He is survived by his wife of more than 54 years, Helen L. Hennen Michael; a son and spouse, Dale M. II and Rosemary Michael, of Monongah; three daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Sally) Price, Mrs. Marvin (Joye) Keener, both of Mannington, and Helen Roye Harper, of Seaside, Calif.; a brother, Harold Michael, of Kent, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Ralph and Roland Michael, and three sisters, Mildred Mullenax, Nora Repep, and Edna Mae Michael.

Friends may call at the Dent Funeral Home in Farmington from 1-9 p.m. Friday. Service will be at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Francis Ihrman officiating. Burial will be in the Bee Gum Cemetery, near Mannington. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers, and Marion County Veterans Council will conduct flag folding ceremonies at the graveside.
