Mr. Mike Arant, and old and highly esteemed citizen of Middle St. Matthews, died on Tuesday of last week and was buried at Jericho Church on the following Wednesday. His funeral services, conducted by Rev. F. Arnold, were largely attended, which bears evidence of the respect in which he was held by his neighbors. Mr. Arant was a most exemplary Christian, passing a long life in a thickly settled community despensing belessings upon all with whom he came in contact. He came as near being universally loved as any man we ever knew and his influence will live among the neighbors long after his bones have fallen to dust.
