Vestal: Constantine "Gus" Varvitsotis, 79, of Vestal, died unexpectedly Wednesday, August 31, 2011. He was predeceased by his parents, Dimetra and Andrew Varvitsotis. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Vivian Varvitsotis, Vestal; his children, Michael and Darlene Varvitsotis, Lebanon, CT, James Varvitsotis, Vestal, Connie and William Winters, Cicero; his grandchildren, William, Katherine, Cecily and Andrew. He was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Vestal, where he served as a Board Member. Gus retired from the IBM Corporation after over 30 years of service and retired from the New York Army National Guard where he served for over 35 years. Gus enjoyed old movies, his autos, camping, hunting, fishing, boating and travel with his family. Funeral services will be held at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 4121 O'Hara Drive, Vestal, Saturday at 10 a.m. Rev. Fr. Michael Bahlatzis, his Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Friday from 5-8 p.m. Trisagion service will be Friday at 7:45 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Gus may be made to Chester B. Lord School, 67 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, NY 13905.
