Dec. 21, 1920
Death claimed a long time resident of Appanoose county and Centerville at 5:20 this morning when Elias Fox passed away here following a four weeks illness brought about by a paralytic stroke. Mr. Fox was 78 years old and would have been 79 on January 17. He had been in poor health most of the winter.
He was born in Indiana but came to Appanoose county when about ten years of age, and thus was considered one of the pioneers of the county, having spent almost 69 years here. He is survived by the wife and two children, Mrs. W. A. Bradley, of Malone, Ill. and Mrs. M. P. Graham of this city. Two children are dead.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the Methodist church, in charge of the Grand Army of the Republic, of which he was an active member.
