The wedding documentation states Synda's last name as Evans. Sydna's father was Ellis Evans, Parish Clerk, of Llandyfrydog. Her mother was Mary (Jones) Evans. Her family moved to Llandyfrydog from Beaumaris in the early 1800s. Her parents resided at Pontycochyn in Llandyfrydog. Sydna is mentioned in her father's will.

"MRS. CATHERINE PRYTHERCH- May 27th, 1919, at the home of her son, Hugh W. Prytherch at Binghamton NY, occurred the death of Mrs. Catherine Prytherch in her 85th year. Besides her intimate family, many friends in Utica and Binghamton mourn the loss of a dear friend.
Catherine Williams was born at Fron Deg Llandyfrydog, Anglesey, North Wales, September 15th, 1834, the youngest daughter of Hugh and Sydney Williams. She was married to Hugh Prytherch at Llandgefini, April 22, 1861. Her husband was a man of exceptional ability and well versed in the Scriptures. While a very young man he was made a Deacon in the Welsh Calvinistic Methodist Church, so was a valuable assession to the Welsh Church at Utica, N.Y. upon his arrival there in l873. He soon sent for his wife and three little sons to join him here. But while they were crossing the Atlantic, the husband and father was taken seriously ill and died within three weeks of their arrival. This bitter sorrow, while yet a stranger in a new country, would have crushed a less heroic spirit, but Mrs. Prytherch had the right kind of faith, the faith that makes one strong for daily tasks; so, trusting in God for strength and guidance, she worked hard to keep a home for her little family. Out of trials, triumphs come, for Mrs. Prytherch not only made her three sons comfortable, but her home was noted for its hospitality, and many, who had but recently left the homeland, found at her home a welcome and an uplift, for from her own experience she could heartily sympathize with others in sorrow, or rejoice with them when success rewarded their efforts. Naturally of a cheerful disposition, she made the best of whatever circumstances she was placed in.
She had a wonderful memory and could recall portions of sermons, which she had heard in Wales when a younger girl. The Bible and religious thoughts were reality; to her as the bread of life, and all who knew her feel sure that she has entered into a fuller life in the mansions prepared for those who love and serve Him here.
During her latter years it was a great comfort to her to know that her sons were all an honor to their mother, and successful in their various pursuits. She was tenderly cared for at the home of her son, Hugh W. Prytherch, of Binghamton, where she had made her home for the past twenty years. She frequently visited her sons, Robert W. and William C. both of whom live in Utica. She also leaves 16 grandchildren, in whose success and progress she was greatly interested, and who were the subjects of her earnest prayers.
Mrs. Prytherch was a very devoted member of Moriah Welsh Church, Utica, N.Y., for 45 years. During her residence in Utica she was especially faithful at all services, and when the present edifice was built, corner of Park Avenue and Dakin Street, she was most active in her co-operation.
On May 29th, at the home of her son, R.W. Prytherch, appropriate funeral services were conducted by Rev. John Davies, D. D., pastor of Moriah Church, and her remains were placed to rest in the family plot in Forest Hill Cemetery. "Death cannot end immortal life. The Grave, tho' dark its aspect be, Cannot detain the soul that Christ, Has ransomed to eterenity.""
