By the union in marriage there were born to them eight children, four girls and four boys, of which only three sons remain.Their married life was of long duration, being married 60 years last Dec. 8.

He was a faithful consisent follower of Christ for more than a half century, and though the last few years the physical sight grew dim and the step more tottering, his spiritual vison grew clearer and brighter and his faith stronger and more steadfast.

He was a kind and affectionate father, a loving, devoted husband and an honored and respected neighbor.

The funeral services were held in the home of the deceased, Saturday at 11 A.M., conducted by Rev. L. C. Lemon of the Methodist Church, assisted by J. P. Davis of the Christian Church.

The remains were laid to rest in the Fairfield cemetery to await the call of Him who said, "I am the resurrection and the life."

Asleep in Jesus! Oh, how sweet.
To be for such a slumber meet;
With holy confidence to sing,
That death has lost it's venomed sting.

Asleep in Jesus! Peaceful rest,
Whose (sp. Who's) waking is supremely blest!
No fear, no foe, shall dim that hour
That manifests the Savior's power.

FAMILY NOTE: Even though both obituaries state Fairfield Cemetery as his burial site, there is no record of his burial in the cemetery. No stone has been found. Bills for the casket, vault, use of the hearse and for digging the grave were found in his probate record at the Clay county courthouse. He is probably buried in the Fairfield cemetery but there is no marker at this date.

The only A. B. Palmer in this cemetery is Alexander Palmer and his wife Mary Younger. This is not the same family. Alexander is an immigrant from Scotland.
