She is survived by her husband, Robert Ridley Hagan; a brother, Horatio Cornick Hoggard III of Norfolk; two sons, Robert Ridley Hagan Jr. (Father Aelred) of Trappist Abbey of Mepkin, Moncks Corner, S.C., and Richard Cornick Hagan of Boston, Mass.; two daughters, Susan Hagan Dobbins of Richmond and Helen Scott Hagan of Charlottesville; and three grandchildren, Elizabeth Perry, Frances Coke and Samuel Scott Dobbins, all of Richmond.
A graduate of Mary Washington College, she taught physics and math at Thomas Dale High School in Chester, Va.; was a substitute teacher with the Henrico County school system; and taught riding at St. Catherines School. She was manager of Deep Run Hunt Club for 16 years and a realtor associate of Bowers Nelms & Fonville in their Patterson office. Mrs. Hagan was a licensed steward and jumper judge with the American Horse Show Association and a member of the Virginia Horse Shows Association. An avid sports enthusiast, she continued to play tennis until her recent illness. Mrs. Hagan was a member of the Junior League of Richmond and a longtime member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church.
Funeral services will be held at St. Stephen's Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 4. Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made, in her memory, to the Massey Cancer Center or the American Cancer Society. Joseph W. Bliley Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
