She was born September 2, 1918, to Irva Mae (Jordan) and Oskar Alexander Hopland in Milner, ND.
She married Robert Clarence Chinn.
She was an active member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and loved making quilts with the Monday morning Circle. She had been a country school teacher and worked as a cook at the Babbitt Cafe for many years. She loved to spend time with her friends at the Babbitt Senior Center, read, play cards and bingo, crochet and do crosswords. A loving mother, her family was the joy of her life.
She is survived by her children, Patti (Rodney) Erickson, Bill (Sissy) Chinn, Ron (Judy) Chinn, Trudy (Jay) Decker; 14 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marion Vezina, and Loraine Nyberg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; and her daughters, Roberta Roe, and Loreen Musich; a brother, Orvin Hopland; and sisters, Helen Benjamin, and Orla Iverson.
