GRANDVIEW — Mrs. Mary Augusta Thompson, 88, died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, at Muscatine General hospital. She was born Sept. 23, 1882, at Nichols, the daughter of George and Augusta Cottrel Rummery and had been a longtime resident of the Grandview community.
She married Charles Anthony, Dec. 4, 1902. He died Feb. 26, 1938. Her second marriage was to Arthur Thompson, July 30, 1943, at Grandview.
She was a member of the Grandview Community church.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur, of Grandview; five sons, Clyde Anthony, Muscatine, Glen Anthony, Davenport, Fred Anthony, Sherrard, Ill, Lewis Anthony, Moline and Carl Anthony, Grandview; two step-sons, Virgil Thompson, Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Everett Thompson, Muscatine; three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Thelma) Solomon, Conesville, Mrs. Robert (Mabel) Bish, Tucson, Ariz., and Mrs. Everett (Helen ) Clouse, Tucson; one step-daughter, Mrs. James (Irene) McDowell, Mt. Pleasant; one brother, F.W. Rummery, Moline, Ill.; 36 grandchildren; 97 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Grandview Community church with Rev. Lawrence Bishop officiating, Burial will be at the Grandview cemetery.
The body is at the Stacey-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction.
