Carl Everett Anthony, age 84, of Grandview, Iowa, died Friday afternoon, November 15, 1996 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. The son of Charles A. and Mary Agusta Rummery Anthony, he was born June 6, 1912 at Grandview.

He married Ruth Phillips on January 21, 1935 at Grandview.

He was a faithful and active member of the Grandview Community Bible Church. He enjoyed people and also fishing and gardening.

He had worked at R&M Sash and Door Co. of Muscatine and then many years at Carver Pump where he retired in 1976.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth; three daughters, Arlene Albers of Grandview, Janice Brockert of Letts, and Wanda Gael of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Keith Anthony of Cedar Rapids and Lyndal Anthony of Solon; Seventeen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mabel Bish and Helen Clouse, both of Tucson, Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, one sister, one granddaughter, and two great-grandsons.

The funeral service for Carl Anthony was held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 19, 1996 at the Grandview Community Bible Church with Rev. Darryl Erickson officiating. Music was provided by Marillyn Schlutz as organist and Marie and Curt Henderson as vocalists with Wanda Funk as the accompanist.

Burial followed at the Grandview Cemetery. The casket bearers were Tom Pogemiller, Myron Crumly, Roy Johnson, Charles Jones, Paul Stineman and Bill Brauns. Honorary bearers were Glenn Beard, Wayne Reed, Leon Thompson, Harold Williams and Warren Stineman.

The family met with friends Monday evening at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello.

A Memorial Fund has been established for the benefit of the missionaries of the Grandview Community Bible Church.
