Roy E. "Eddy" Rhoads, 65, of Vivian, LA passed away July 16, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at United Pentecostal Church in Oil City, LA officiated by Rev. Kent Rhoads. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Oil City. There will be a time of visitation from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at the church.
Eddy was born December 9, 1946 in Vivian to Leroy and Dora Crocker Rhoads. He lived in Vivian most of his life. He was an avid fishermen and he loved to play dominos. He worked as a barber when he served in the National Guard, and later in life.
Eddy was preceded in death by his parents, Papaw and Mamaw Rhoads, his sister Darlene Rogers and his brother Milton Rhoads. He is survived by his wife Joyce White Rhoads of Vivian, his son Ronnie E. Rhoads and wife Robyn of Minden, LA, his grandsons; Logan and Landon Rhoads, his brother David Rhoads of Lufkin, TX, his sister Gail Bordelon of Breaux Bridge, LA and a host of family and friends.
