J. B. Carbaugh Dead.
J. B. Carbaugh, a retired minister and formerly a rural mail carrier, died in his sleep early this morning at his home, 1015 Merchant. He had been in failing health for the past four years.
Mr. Carbaugh was born in Beverly, Ill., September 30, 1860, and had lived in Emporia since November, 1916, when he became carrier on Route 5 southeast of Emporia. He retired from the mail service August 31, 1930. He had lived in Kansas since 1904, and previous to coming to Emporia had been a rural mail carrier at Penalosa, in Kingman county. Mr. Carbaugh was a minister in the United Brethren church for 14 years. He married Ida Belle Askew in Beverly, Ill., on March 31, 1887. Mrs. Carbaugh survives him. He is survived also by a son, Dr. Kenneth Carbaugh, Overland Park, Kan., and three daughters, Mrs. Fawn Nelson, Twin Falls, Idaho; Mrs. Freda Bonar, Hillsboro, Ore., and Mrs. Lucile Mordy, Manhattan. Mr. Carbaugh was a member of the I. O. O. F. lodge.
Funeral arrangements have not been made.

Carbaugh Funeral Monday.
Funeral services for J. B. Carbaugh, who died early Friday morning, will be held at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon in the First Methodist church. Rev. O. E. Allison will be in charge of the services, assisted by Rev. A. E. Henry, of Wichita, and Rev. J. E. Hopkins. Interment will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery.

Funeral of J. B. Carbaugh
Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon in the First Methodist church for Rev. John B. Carbaugh, who died early Friday morning. Rev. O. E. Allison, pastor of the church, conducted the services. He was assisted by Rev. A. E. Henry, of Wichita, former pastor of the First Methodist church; Rev. J. E. Hopkins, Emporia, and Rev. J. K. Waters, of Overland Park. E. J. Lewis and Rice Brown sang, accompanied by Mrs. E. J. Lewis. The pallbearers were T. D. Little, Harry McGuire, W. A. Cunningham, A. Ramey Moore, B. A. Bruce and Alva Johnston. Interment was in Memorial Lawn cemetery.
Out-of-town relatives and friends who attended the funeral included Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth Carbaugh, Overland Park; Mr. and Mrs. Francis Mordy, Manhattan; Mrs. Freda Bonar, Hillsboro, Ore.; Thomas Askew, Dahlgren, Ill.; Mrs. Everett Gordon, Dresden, N. D.; Dr. and Mrs. J. S. Fulton, Topeka; Royce Hoge, Overland Park, and Mrs. Marshall Bruce, Americus.
