Fred E Challet, 57, of West Farms, Northampton, was injured fatally yesterday when his clothing was caught in a saw at the Parsons and Challet Saw Mill in Westhampton, crushing him against the floor. Witnesses said Challet was leaning over a saw when the motor was turned on and ths saw, which was in gear, began to rotate. His clothing was caught and he was spun to the floor before other workers could turn the machine off. He died a short time later in Cooley Dickinson Hospital.

Easthampton, Feb 28 – Funeral of Fred E Challet of West Farms was held in the Westhampton Congregational Church Sunday afternoon with Rev Robert L young, pastor, and Rev Walter E Wyman of Lee and former pastor of Westhampton Church, officiating. Bearers were Philip Norris, Frank Montague, James Hickey, JR., Murray Clapp, David Clapp and Grant Bridgman, all of Westhampton. Burial was in Westhampton Center Cemetery.
