Victim’s Rites Tomorrow
Easthampton, March 9 – Funeral service for Etienne Challet, 84, of Glendale Rd, West Farms, who was instantly killed by an automobile Tuesday night in Westhampton Rd., West Farms, will be held Friday afternoon at 2 at the West Farms chapel. Rev Walter Wyman, pastor of the Westhampton Congregational Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the family lot in West Farms Cemetery. Friends may call at the V E Mitchell and Son funeral home in Union St., Easthampton, until noon Friday. Mr Challet was born in Fregrecour, Switzerland, son of Etienne and Julia (Mattie) Challet and came to the United States as a young man 60 years ago. He was married to the former Analda Bouchee, who died in 1934. He leaves three sons, Fred E, Alfred and Wilfred Challet; six daughters, Mrs. Albins Bergeron, Mrs. Mary Muise, Mrs. Anna Hunt, Mrs. Rose Amlaw, Mrs. Pearl Lyman and Miss Emma Challet; 29 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
